The Chilean industry’s first icon wine, Don Melchor, celebrates its 35th anniversary with the launch of its new 2021 vintage. This wine embodies the perfect balance of its origin’s energy and finesse in the acclaimed Puente Alto appellation.
More than 100 attendees, including customers, consumers, press, and market influencers, attended the event, which took place at the exclusive Hotel Palácio Tangará. in Sao Paulo. Four iconic vintages of Don Melchor were presented at a lunch on the occasion: 1988, 1996, 2015, and 2021.
Brazilian sommelier Manoel Beato, with more than 35 years of experience, provided wine service throughout the dinner. He is widely recognized in the market and is the sommelier in charge of the prestigious Fasano group of restaurants. On the other hand, the pairing was orchestrated by Filipe Rizzato, internationally recognized and in charge of gastronomy at Hotel Palácio Tangará.
“This important event allowed us to share and celebrate Don Melchor’s 35th vintage with important market personalities, a wine that is composed of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Merlot. This new vintage faithfully expresses the energy and finesse of an exceptional terroir such as Puente Alto,” said Enrique Tirado, CEO and Technical Director of Viña Don Melchor.
