British wine writer and educator, Sarah Phillips, visited our Casona to try out the Don Melchor Experience and expand her knowledge of our Cabernet Sauvignon icon from Puente Alto.

During her visit to the Don Melchor de Casa Concha’s house, located in Pirque, Sarah Phillips had the chance to live the Don Melchor Experience and participate in an exclusive tasting of the latest vintage, Don Melchor 2020, along with a selection from three of the Puente Alto parcels that give birth to our iconic wine. As part of the Casona tour, the wine educator, presenter, and writer also visited the Don Melchor Collection Room, which features all vintages from since the first wine harvest in 1987.

As part of the tasting, the wine specialist had a chance to make her own blend using different percentages from parcels 1, 3, and 5 of the Don Melchor Vineyard. She notes: “The Don Melchor experience was a unique opportunity to understand the personalities of various parcels, and how they each influence a blend. It’s rare to have the opportunity to experiment with blending like this – especially with such high end wines – so we really appreciated the experience.”
