Don Melchor unveils its 2021 vintage in Shanghai.

The new vintage of Puente Alto's icon Cabernet Sauvignon faithfully expresses its world-class terroir and reflects the perfect combination of harmony and elegance.

In Shanghai, Don Melchor officially launched its 35th vintage, Don Melchor 2021. The event was attended by the Chilean Consul General in Shanghai, Gonzalo Figueroa, Concha y Toro executives, and the winery’s important strategic partners in China.

Xiaopi (Xu Wei), a renowned wine expert and one of China’s most influential specialist opinion leaders, led the attendees to a launch dinner where they tasted the 2008 and 2020 vintages of Don Melchor, along with the most recent vintage of the wine.

Don Melchor 2021 is made up of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Merlot. This wine stands out for its complex bouquet, featuring red fruits, small berries, and floral notes of violets. On the palate, it is full, deep, and simultaneously full-bodied with a velvety texture. This new vintage truly reflects its world-class terroir and showcases a perfect combination of harmony and elegance.

Don Melchor 2021 has been rated with an excellent 99 points by the renowned international wine critic James Suckling. He has praised it as “one of the best in recent years” and positioned it among the greatest exponents of Chilean wine in the eyes of international wine critics.
