Don Melchor Collector’s Experience Reopens Its Doors with Strict Safety Standards

The exclusive experience to learn about the history of Chile's first icon wine is once again available to the public, with a new limit to group size, health protocols and social distancing guaranteed.

For those who want to discover the history of wine-growing and home to Chile’s first icon wine, the Don Melchor Collector’s Experience is back. The tour is now available with new safety standards to ensure and protect the health of all visitors.

The tour has been modified and is now limited to a maximum of 6 people per group. We have also implemented the strictest sanitation, hygiene and social distancing protocols, requiring visitors to use face masks during the experience, providing hand sanitizer dispensers and a temperature control station at the entrance.

The Don Melchor Collector’s Experience is a journey through the Chilean wine-growing excellence to explore the origins and delicate process behind one of the greatest wines in the world.

The wine tasting begins with a selection of three wines from the different plots in the Don Melchor vineyard. Each of these expresses the vineyard’s diversity and contributes distinct features that, as a whole, make up the complexity of each bottle of this Cabernet Sauvignon. The tasting ends with the chance to try the latest vintage of Don Melchor (2018).

The Collector’s Experience lasts 90 minutes and includes an exclusive private tour of the gardens of founder Melchor de Concha y Toro’s summer home; a guided tour of the historic estate home and its bedrooms; and the chance to see the blending process for some of the Don Melchor’s 27 different plots.

The experience concludes with a visit to the exclusive Don Melchor Collection Room, which sells all of the wine’s vintages from its launch in 1987 to present day. Visitors must make prior, confirmed reservations at least 10 days ahead of time, using the form available on the website, www.donmelchor.com.
