Don Melchor 2018 presented to the Asian market

This past November 17, in the context of the 2018 vintage launch, Enrique Tirado, CEO of Viña Don Melchor, presented the latest vintage to Asian media in a Zoom meeting.

On this occasion, Enrique told participants a little more about the history of Don Melchor, how the wine came about and how its main objective has to been produce a wine that truly expresses its terroir. Tirado also spoke of the wine production process and how since the beginning, he has traveled every year to Medoc to meet with the Boissenot family and define the final blend.

With respect to the 2018 vintage, Enrique told the media about how special this vintage was, and how thanks to ideal weather conditions and the great work of the winemaking team, they were able to carry out an unprecedented harvest and produce a final wine that faithfully expresses the influence of the Andes Mountains, its rocky soils and its climate.

“The mix of temperatures and precipitations in the Puente Alto vineyard was key to the development of Cabernet Sauvignon and the other grapes,” says Tirado, “and allowed us to incorporate Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot into the blend.”
