On 5 September, Casa Don Melchor opened the doors of its historic residence to welcome OSSO, the acclaimed restaurant founded by Peruvian chef Renzo Garibaldi. The lunch marked OSSO’s first official presentation in Chile, as part of its arrival in the country and ahead of the opening of its new restaurant in Santiago.

The experience brought together a culinary proposal specially created by Renzo Garibaldi and his team, paired with an exceptional selection of wines from Viña Don Melchor, in a celebration of origin, craftsmanship and excellence.

Recognised as one of Latin America’s leading culinary references, OSSO ranks No. 44 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 and has taken its philosophy, rooted in respect for ingredients, fire-driven cooking and culinary mastery, onto the international stage.
“We are delighted that OSSO’s first official presentation in Chile took place at Casa Don Melchor, a venue that brings together history, tradition and the legacy of one of Chile’s great wine icons. It was an honour for us to share our cuisine and collaborate with Don Melchor on an experience that united two worlds connected by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a deep respect for craftsmanship,” said Renzo Garibaldi, founder and chef of OSSO.

The gathering brought together two expressions of Latin American excellence. On one hand, Renzo Garibaldi’s culinary vision, built on respect for ingredients, craftsmanship and the culture of fire. On the other, Don Melchor, Chile’s iconic wine, crafted in Puente Alto at the foothills of the Andes Mountains, an exceptional Andean origin for fine Cabernet Sauvignon production that has given life to one of the world’s most celebrated wines, distinguished as Wine Spectator’s No. 1 Wine of the Year.

“At Casa Don Melchor, we strive to create meaningful experiences that bring people together around the values that inspire us: excellence, respect for origin, and a passion for craftsmanship. We are delighted to share these values with culinary projects that, through their own identity, celebrate authenticity and a deep connection to place,” commented Enrique Tirado, CEO and Technical Director of Viña Don Melchor.

The event further reinforced Casa Don Melchor’s position as a meeting place for fine wine and fine dining, bringing together leading figures from the sector around the values of origin, craftsmanship and the constant pursuit of excellence.
