Within the framework of the specialized magazine’s upcoming report on Chile, Enrique met with the editor of Wine Spectator, Aaron Romano, to introduce the 35th vintage of our iconic Cabernet Sauvignon from Puente Alto. He also shared all the latest news from the Don Melchor Vineyard in terms of Innovation, like the Solar Vineyard Project, and Sustainability in agroecological management.

Enrique met in Napa with two renowned wine journalists, Elizabeth Smith and Laura Ness. During their visit, he gave them a complete overview of the work behind the production of Don Melchor in terms of the wine management, winemaking, and cellar aging processes. They also delved into the role of Viña Don Melchor as guardians of the terroir of Puente Alto, where its work is to protect the vineyards and the legacy of Don Melchor for future generations, based on values of excellence and its desire to continually improve vintage after vintage. With this philosophy, the winery aims to preserve its unique identity through respect for its place of origin, vineyard micro-management, and the conservation of biodiversity.
In line with his goal to introduce the latest vintage of Don Melchor to the press, Enrique also met with journalist J’nai Gaither, who collaborates with special wine media outlets such as Decanter, Forbes and Wine Enthusiast.
THE SOMM JOURNAL AND THE SLOW WINE GUIDE
During his trip, Enrique also visited the renowned wine educator and editor of The Somm Journal and The Slow Wine Guide, Deborah Parker Wong. They discussed the climate of Puente Alto, the significant role played by the Andes Mountains as a natural barrier and temperature regulator, the history of century-old vines, and the priorities in terms of biodiversity that Enrique and the Don Melchor team are currently addressing through agroecological management.
