As part of El Catador’s 50th anniversary celebrations, Viña Don Melchor took part in La Gran Cata 50, a prestigious event held in Santo Domingo that brought together 35 international wineries, alongside partners and guests who have been part of the company’s history.

During the event, which celebrated five decades of dedication and passion for wine, Viña Don Melchor presented Don Melchor 2022, the vintage currently available on the market, alongside Don Melchor 2018, a vintage awarded 100 points by James Suckling. The selection was complemented by Amelia Chardonnay and Terrunyo Carmenere, two emblematic expressions of the terroirs of Limarí and Peumo, respectively.

The occasion provided an opportunity to share two vintages of Don Melchor with customers and consumers, reflecting the consistency and singularity that, vintage after vintage, reveal the wine’s exceptional Andean origin in Puente Alto.

The celebration brought together a distinguished selection of international wineries for an experience dedicated to wine and its finest expressions. As the only Chilean winery taking part, Viña Don Melchor had the opportunity to represent Chile and share with customers and consumers the excellence of Cabernet Sauvignon from Puente Alto and the uniqueness of this exceptional Andean origin, as part of a celebration that reaffirmed El Catador’s contribution to the development of wine culture in the Dominican Republic.
