The celebration highlighted the dialogue between wine and gastronomy as fundamental pillars of contemporary culinary culture, bringing together chefs and leading figures from different countries around a shared purpose: respect for origin, local produce, and collaboration.

The event took place as part of the 4th edition of Ruta Trasandina, organized by the restaurant, where Don Melchor, with its 2022 vintage, was part of the official pairing presented by winemaker Enrique Tirado. The experience included a series of dishes created by the participating chefs, in a collaborative culinary journey that brought together perspectives and techniques from the region and the world.
One of the highlights of this edition was the first-ever participation in the history of Ruta Trasandina of a chef from Asia: Jia Wei Lee, executive chef of La Bourriche 133, ranked #48 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. The chef was invited to Chile by Viña Don Melchor as part of an international visit, strengthening the connection between the brand and leading figures in global fine dining.

Among the Latin American guests were renowned chefs from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, and Bolivia, representing restaurants such as Nelita, Cosme, El Chato, Aramburu, among others. From Chile, featured chefs included Marcos Baeza (Fukasawa), Rodolfo Guzmán (Boragó), Camila Fiol (Dulcería Fiol), and Pedro Chavarría (Demo).

Casa Las Cujas, meanwhile, celebrated 12 years established as one of the most influential culinary projects in Chile and the region, currently ranked #12 on Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants. Created by brothers Max, Juan Pablo, and Domingo Raide, since its beginnings on the coast of Cachagua, the restaurant has evolved into a concept with international projection, while maintaining its essence rooted in seafood, freshness, and a strong connection to its territory.
Don Melchor’s presence in this celebration reaffirms its positioning as one of Chile’s great Cabernet Sauvignons, recognized for its unique origin in the Puente Alto Denomination of Origin and for its consistency as a global fine wine benchmark, bringing identity and excellence to high-level gastronomic experiences.
