Following the celebration of Innovation Day, Viña Don Melchor reaffirms its innovative spirit and commitment to excellence through its latest proposal: “The Parcel” series, a limited-edition collection that expresses the identity and personality behind each of Don Melchor’s seven vineyard parcels.

With a trajectory defined by excellence, Viña Don Melchor added an innovative collection to its portfolio in 2025, which until then had been focused on a single label: its iconic Don Melchor Cabernet Sauvignon. The limited-edition “The Parcel” series was born from an oenological vision that, harvest after harvest, identifies the parcel that best expresses the character of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Puente Alto appellation, giving rise to wines of remarkable authenticity and singularity.

Vision and excellence: The Parcels of Viña Don Melchor

This series is the result of a profound vision and meticulous work led by Enrique Tirado, General Manager and Technical Director of Viña Don Melchor. Since 1997, he has explored and studied the Puente Alto vineyard, examining every corner and soil type with the aim of reflecting, in each vintage, the finest expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.

After nearly 30 years of in-depth study, the 125-hectare vineyard is now organized into seven main Cabernet Sauvignon parcels, which are further subdivided into a total of 151 micro-parcels.

This philosophy reached a turning point in the 2022 harvest, when the idea emerged to vinify Parcel 01 independently. “With the 2022 vintage, I realized it was the perfect moment to highlight the unique beauty of each parcel and bring it to life through its individuality. I decided to embrace the singular expression of each vintage, highlighting the particularity of each parcel,” says Enrique Tirado.

DM/01 – 2022 Vintage

The first wine in this limited-edition collection represents the purest expression of Parcel 01, the oldest parcel in the Don Melchor Vineyard. It is a wine that precisely reflects the origin and history of the terroir, inaugurating a new era for Viña Don Melchor.

Less than a year after its launch, DM/01 2022 has already achieved significant recognition. It was distinguished as “Revelation Wine” in the 2026 edition of Guía Descorchados and received an outstanding 98 points from both the influential American wine critic James Suckling and the renowned British publication The Drinks Business. These accolades are complemented by 94 points from the prestigious magazine Wine Spectator and 95 points from Vinous. These achievements reinforce the strength, vision, and innovative character that define this new series within the prestigious Viña Don Melchor portfolio.
