Wine Enthusiast, one of the world’s most celebrated specialized media, chose the 2019 vintage of Don Melchor as one of its 100 best wines of the year.

The magazine’s annual ranking presents the wines that have both received the highest scores throughout the year and impressed the group in charge of tasting the selection.

Of the 21,000 wines that were blind tasted, reviewed, and scored, Don Melchor claimed the 78th position with 94 points. This is the first time that Don Melchor has appeared among this select group of wines.

In addition to the score obtained, the accompanying tasting note offers praise for this vintage, saying “the nose of this flavorful red opens up with raspberry, cherry, licorice and peppercorn aromas. Well-integrated tannins are smooth and provide a good structure to the palate. Black and red fruit appear alongside dried herbs and vanilla flavors. It has depth and is balanced, with a lingering spiciness on the finish.
