The iconic Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, recognized as “Wine of the Year 2024” by the prestigious Wine Spectator magazine, continues to break boundaries and strengthens its international presence by joining Nordpolet in Norway, the northernmost wine shop in the world.

Don Melchor, the iconic Cabernet Sauvignon from Puente Alto, recently awarded Top wine of the World by the renowned Wine Spectator, marks a new milestone by joining the portfolio of Nordpolet, the wine store located at the edge of the world, further solidifying its presence in the demanding Nordic market.

Nordpolet, is a small former coal-mining town on Spitsbergen Island, in Norway’s Svalbard archipelago, and the only licensed alcohol outlet in the town. Situated at over 78 degrees north latitude, this unique store offers a wide range of some of the world’s finest wines and spirits at tax-free prices, becoming a must-visit destination for both locals and the growing number of visitors exploring this Arctic territory.

In a setting where average temperatures hover around -6.7°C, and the landscapes are dominated by glaciers and northern lights, Nordpolet stands out for its refined offering of premium wines and spirits. It is within this exclusive selection that Don Melchor now takes its place, reaffirming its international prestige and leadership and extending its boundaries to the world’s northernmost wine shop.
