Don Melchor has had excellent visibility in various media throughout 2021. One example is the article entitled “The perfect match behind one of Chile’s most awarded wines,” which appeared on the Chilean website El Mostrador.
The report covered the history of this award-winning wine, its unique terroir characteristics, and the circumstances that led it to become a global icon.
L’Officiel Chile issued the article “Terroir de Puente Alto, the local Cabernet Sauvignon cradle,” which also details the origin of this icon wine born in one of the most privileged areas in the world for this grape variety’s production.
It was also part of the fall edition of the Club Oenologique after leading British wine writer Alistair Cooper MW conducted a vertical tasting of several vintages.
The article takes a journey that begins with the 1987 vintage, then continues with 1989, 1995, 1999, 2001, 2008, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018 vintages. “Don Melchor, presumably Chile’s first icon wine, is undoubtedly one of the country’s most recognized and decorated premium cuvées,” the article detailed.
In the same issue, Tim Atkin also presents Don Melchor 2018 among the best South American reds for cellaring, a new recognition that consolidates this world-renowned premium wine.
