Don Melchor 2021 receives 95 points in Alistair Cooper’s Wine Guide.

Don Melchor 2021 Wins Best Cabernet and Best Maipo in the Latin American Wine Guide and receives 95 points in the latest edition of the Latin American Wine Guide by British Master of Wine Alistair Cooper.

The second edition of the Latin American Wine Guide of the renowned British Master of Wine, Alistair Cooper, was recently released. Don Melchor 2021 was distinguished with 95 points and awarded “Best Cabernet Sauvignon” and “Best Maipo.”

In his tasting notes, Alistair describes them as a wine that “is quite shy on the nose at the moment but has an element of cassis beneath and a gravel graphite savoury note – the oak is present on the nose but surprisingly soft. A rich unctuous mouthfeel with wonderful acidity and freshness – texturally the tannins are almost clay like, fine, rounded but with a cooling presence. Rich and sweet fruits, cassis and cedar spice with a coffee note creeping through in the finish. For such a young wine it is impressive how complete it already is. Blue and cooling notes coming through on the finish. Impressive!

Cooper’s renewed acknowledgment reveals Don Melchor’s winemaking steadiness, exceptional quality, and the command it musters to position itself as one of the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the world.
