Don Melchor 2021 is awarded with 94 points by Decanter

The iconic Puente Alto Cabernet Sauvignon dazzled with 94 points from the renowned British publication, Decanter.

As part of the celebration of its 35th vintage, Don Melchor 2021 once again stands out with an excellent score. This time, specialized journalist Amanda Barnes—responsible for tasting South American wines for the British magazine Decanter—awarded 94 notable points to the 2021 vintage of Don Melchor.

This great example from the acclaimed Puente Alto appellation was described by Amanda as: “Combining older vines (planted 1979) with new vines from their acclaimed Puente Alto vineyard, this Cabernet Sauvignon blend with a touch of Cabernet Franc and Merlot shows great balance and persistence in this stellar vintage. Long and fine, the nose is redolent of red bramble fruit, forest floor, cedar, exotic spice and a touch of mint.”

Since its first vintage, Don Melchor has established itself as one of the most awarded high-end Cabernet Sauvignons, demonstrating great enological consistency and world-class excellence throughout its 35 vintages (1987-2021).
