The 35th vintage of the Cabernet Sauvignon icon from Puente Alto, Don Melchor 2021, received an extraordinary 97 points from the specialized magazine, to become the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the report written by Master of Wine Patrick Schmitt.

The September edition of the prestigious British publication, The Drinks Business, included a report on Chilean wines entitled “Reaching New Heights” by Master of Wine, Patrick Schmitt, in which Don Melchor stood out with a score of 97 points.

The icon wine of Concha y Toro, Don Melchor is a longstanding and remarkable red, that may have gradually got pricier, but also better – ensuring it is now one of the world’s great Cabernet blends. This 2021 release is wonderful, with density and power, but a bright edge too, ensuring there’s a lively character to the mouthfeel.
