Experience the 2024 harvest of Viña Don Melchor

9 de October, 2024
Characterised by cooler temperatures throughout the season, higher rainfall and, consequently, slower ripening of the grapes, the 2024 harvest required patience and a lot of monitoring in the vineyard, resulting in wines of remarkable quality, great fruit expression and an attractive balance.

Enrique Tirado, technical director and CEO of Viña Don Melchor, invites us to tour the Don Melchor vineyard and review the characteristics of what was a great 2024 harvest for Puente Alto’s icon Cabernet Sauvignon.

“The 2023-2024 season has been marked by the El Niño phenomenon, which has produced more rainfall and cooler temperatures throughout the season. This has caused a slower ripening in the vineyards, but at the same time it allows us to keep and conserve all the fruit expression, floral notes, and tannins that will give a very soft texture to the wines”, says the winemaker about the results of Don Melchor’s 38th harvest.
