This new achievement adds to the long list of accolades for Don Melchor, marking its ninth appearance in the prestigious critic’s Top 100 Wines of the World ranking.
The 2022 vintage of Don Melchor, which earned an outstanding 99 points in the latest Chile report, secured the 53rd spot on this select list, making it the highest-rated Chilean wine from the 2022 vintage.
James Suckling described Don Melchor 2022 as a wine with: “Blackcurrants, cassis and graphite on the nose. Pure and fragrant. Full-bodied with superb density and tannins that are so polished. The texture is like touching a silk ball.”
“Being part of James Suckling’s Top 100 Wines of the World for the ninth time fills us with pride and reaffirms our commitment to continue producing a world-class Cabernet Sauvignon that reflects the great expression and finesse of its origin in the acclaimed Puente Alto appellation,” says Enrique Tirado, CEO and Technical Director of Viña Don Melchor.
Don Melchor has been included in this elite list nine times, with vintages from 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, and now 2022. This recognition further confirms its outstanding winemaking consistency and positions it as one of the most awarded Cabernet Sauvignons from the New World.
