Renowned British wine critic Tim Atkin rated Don Melchor's 2018 with 98 points. In his review, Atkin praises 2018 as one of the best years in the last three decades for Chilean red wine, and Don Melchor is no exception.

“Made up of 181 lots covering 151 different vineyard plots, it is a pure and refined expression of the Puente Alto terroir. For a second time, the blend includes four Bordeaux varieties: 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot. It is a well-balanced wine with the right subtleties. Aromatic, floral, including wild herbs top notes, making this iconic wine combine energy with power and grip. The tannins are polished, the fruit intense, with cassis and red fruit flavors complemented by fresh acidity and an aroma of coffee beans in oak”.

This score further enhances the great vintage in 2018 for Don Melchor, consolidating this wine as one of the world’s most splendid high-end Cabernet Sauvignon.
