During the month of April, distinguished journalists Suzana Barelli—one of the most influential and respected voices in the wine world in Brazil, with more than two decades of experience in enology and wine market trends—and Sofía Cerqueira—with over 30 years of experience in media outlets such as Jornal do Brasil, O Globo, and VEJA Rio—visited Don Melchor Winery to learn about its latest developments and take part in an exclusive vertical tasting alongside its winemaker and CEO, Enrique Tirado.
The visit began at the Don Melchor Vineyard, located in the renowned Puente Alto Appellation, where they were welcomed by Enrique Tirado. There, they gained in-depth insight into the innovative Sundial Vineyard project, planted in 2018, which aims to study and understand the optimal orientation and planting density of vines, with the goal of further enhancing the maximum expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from this world-class terroir.
Afterward, they traveled to Pirque, home to Casa Don Melchor and the newly renovated Concha y Toro Wine Center. There, they participated in a vertical tasting of iconic vintages of Don Melchor, guided by winemaker Enrique Tirado. They also had the opportunity to taste one of the most recent innovations in the portfolio: DM/01 vintage 2022, the first wine in the limited-edition “The Parcel” Series by Viña Don Melchor.
This experience helped reinforce the positioning of Chilean wine in the Brazilian market, highlighting its quality, origin, and wine tourism offering.
