Sonal Holland, the only Master of Wine from India and one of the leading experts in her country’s wine industry, visited Viña Don Melchor to learn in detail about the story behind the iconic Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon.

With more than two decades of experience dedicated to bringing wine and beverage culture closer to the Indian audience, Holland visited Viña Don Melchor for the first time, discovering the secrets and traditions of one of Chile’s most emblematic wines: Don Melchor. 

Her visit began in the Don Melchor vineyard, where she learned about the particularities of the acclaimed Puente Alto Denomination of Origin, recognized as one of the best places in the world for Cabernet Sauvignon production. During the tour, she also learned about the winery’s innovative “Sundial Vineyard” Project, an initiative aimed at collecting data to address the challenges of climate change and preserve this exceptional terroir for future generations. 

Later, Sonal Holland visited Casa Don Melchor, where she experienced “The Art of Blending”, which allows guests to taste the seven plots that make up the Don Melchor vineyard, blend them, and enjoy the 2022 vintage of Don Melchor.
