Just weeks after its official release, Viña Don Melchor’s new exclusive wine: DM/01 vintage 2022, limited edition "The Parcels" serie, was recognized with impressive 98 points by Master of Wine Patrick Schmitt report, published by the renowned trade magazine The Drinks Business.

In the recent September issue of the prestigious British magazine The Drinks Business, Patrick Schmitt MW’s “Chile Tasting” report featured DM/01 Vintage 2022, the first release from the limited edition “The Parcels” serie, which received an extraordinary score of 98 points.

This score further reaffirms the excellence of Don Melchor’s iconic Cabernet Sauvignon from the D.O. Puente Alto, with its 2022 vintage also crowned No. 1 in the same report with an outstanding 99 points. Both recognitions confirm the exceptional quality of the 2022 harvest and consolidate Viña Don Melchor’s leadership as a global benchmark in the production of world-class Cabernet Sauvignon.

“An outstanding new release from the Don Melchor estate capturing the strong and appealing personality from a single plot from the property. Structured and refreshing, but rich and creamy too, this is a really fine and appealing wine. Flavour-wise there’s sweet blackcurrant and crushed strawberry, White pepper and violets, chocolate and a touch of toast. Layered, lively, but also intense and tannic, it’s hard not to drink, even in this youthful state.”  – describes Patrick Schmitt MW.

Notably, DM/01 Vintage 2022, the first wine of “The Parcels” limited-edition collection, is composed of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Franc, sourced primarily from Parcel #01 of the Don Melchor Vineyard — the oldest in the estate — and faithfully reflects the purity and authenticity of its origin.

This important recognition for DM/01 Vintage 2022, by MW Patrick Schmitt, marks a milestone in the promising yet solid journey of this exclusive wine. It has already earned high praise from the specialized press, including 98 points from James Suckling and 95 points from Vinous critic Joaquín Hidalgo.
