As part of his visit, Tomás Tapia—sommelier at the Michelin-starred Chilean restaurant Araya and recognized as “Best Sommelier” by Singapore’s 2024 Michelin Guide —visited Viña Don Melchor. The tour was led by Isabel Mitarakis, Viña Concha y Toro’s Luxury Brands winemaker, who presented the exceptional qualities that make Puente Alto one of the best origins for producing high-end Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines.
During the vineyard tour, Mitarakis showcased the agroecological practices being implemented in vineyard management; the progress made in managing the old vineyard, based on the studies, and results obtained so far with our innovative project: The Sundial Vineyard project.
Visit to Casa Don Melchor
The visit then continued at Casa Don Melchor, where a tasting of the 7 parcels from Don Melchor Vineyard was held, along with our current 2022 harvest and the 2014 Don Melchor harvest.
